Download the source and compile yourself.

Pre-compiled eggdrop is always a drama because the system they are compiled on never match exactly what your system has.

oidentd is a daemon; /etc/oidentd.conf is edited (for fine tuning).

In a terminal:

I'm not sure if this would work for you, but on some shells I've experienced a relevant error (permission denied) and typing 'cd .' before 'make config' solved the problem (I don't have an explanation for this though). The "problem" seems affect *BSD only and there's currently a differenc...

It appears to return all relevant data using the default normal announce.

Try simply unloading all scripts (restart the bot); reload one Tcl at a time testing and isolating until you find the offending script and simply do not load it as Sir_Fz stated earlier.
