if you're annoyed by the degree of cluelessness or laziness in a post, ignore it and move along. I've noticed some individuals go out of their way to make the above difficult, this topic being a good example. I believe a "no bumping/begging" policy may be in order. Members should be ignor...

I've observed attitude problems from both regular contributors and newbies, but these are usually manifest as occasional snide remarks rather than clear breaches of forum rules. It crosses the line when it becomes a personal attack - insulting people is unacceptable in this forum. However, I can onl...

Scripting Help is for people who are interested in scripting - experienced scripters helping new scripters. If you just post a block of code with an accompanying request for corrections/changes/features, and it's not clear you wrote the code, then it does belong in the requests forum, so that's wher...

Response from Rootie is as follows: Unfortunately I didn't write the complete patch myself. My main work was adapting one of the first available ssl patches ever to current versions including some small fixes. Would you please be so kind and tell that guy to try poci's "old" ssl patch on t...

The above sticky has just been updated. For moderators, the key to determining whether a post belongs here is how much involvement the poster has in scripting. Take a request for a modification. If it basically just describes a feature to be added or changed, or is a 100 line quote of a script with ...

Re: search feature

i look at a post and then try to use the "back arrow' button to get to the main listing of "found posts" and keep getting the "your page is not longer available" whatever message. I just tried it in IE6 and encountered the same behavior when hitting back shortly after click...

The file has now been updated with a version that's compatble with mysql.mod (the use_ssl variable name that caused the conflict is now ssl_use).

Hasn't been added to the files page yet as I'm waiting to find out of it has the same conflict with BarkerJr's mysql.mod that previous patches have.

Well, the move is complete and it looks like the forum's working. A few posts made just before I shut down the old forum were lost, as the database had been copied to the new server a couple of hours before - sorry about that.

Expected downtime

Please note that sometime in the next day or two, it is expected the forum will be inaccessible due to an IP change. How long this lasts will depend on inherent delays in making the DNS changes, but it should not be more than 24 hours.

You're talking about Eggdrop's userfile sharing, not netbots.tcl. They have little to do with one another. The only time netbots interferes with sharing, if I recall correctly, is when an insufficiently privleged user attempts to use the .chattr command to add the netbot flag to a user.

The user has been deleted. Spammers now have automated tools that read phpBB's default visual confirmation for new signups, which allows them to join forums en masse, so this sort of spam (URLs in member profiles, PMs sent to members, etc.) has been hitting a lot of forums. Have just installed an im...

botnetop.tcl supports pushmode. But the non-default bop_osync setting Bman has chosen means it's not even being used. As it says in the documentation, "enabling this can result in +o flooding". Change it back to 0. You've also changed bop_delay from 20 to 0, which doesn't give bots much ti...
