Status Log

Post by NewzNZ »

Hi guys

Have looked for help on this, but don't seem to be able to get the status display log going again in one of my bots: (the lines that look like this in the DCC/telnet window):

[04:30:00] @#newsroom (+cCtNn) : [m/72 o/6 h/0 v/16 n/50 b/50 e/0 I/0]

I seem to have disabled it by mistake.

Thanks in advance for any help!

See:
http://www.egghelp.org/commands/channels.htm#chaninfo
and scroll down or text search for
statuslog

See if you think that is it.

Try it.

What you can view and read with the .chaninfo command, you can change with the .chanset command.
Enable it. Check to be sure, with .chaninfo command.
Wait five minutes. See if that's it.

I hope this helps.

If you examine eggdrop.conf, you will find it. If you text search for statuslog, you will find it a couple places.
One is the actual setting, within
set global-chanset
The other is a commented description of it.

However, that global-chanset is just a default setting. When you add a channel to bot, those are the default settings given to that channel.
They are then stored in the .chan file, and from then on that .chan file is what is read, when starting bot.

When you made that change with .chanset, you were editing the .chan file.

Sometimes bot owners get mixed up, and think that those global-chanset settings are the way to make changes to channel settings... that's why I mentioned all this.

Use .chanset to change channel settings on existing channels. :)

If that didn't do it, then for the moment - I'm stumped.

I forgot something.
Use .chanset to change channel settings on existing channels.
Then use .chaninfo to double check what you just set with .chanset, to be sure that you are satisfied.

Files ? ??

No need to fiddle with the .chan file ... use .chaninfo to view settings, and .chanset to change them.
There is rarely ever a reason to mess with .chan file directly.

Ok. :)

So when you do:
.chaninfo #channelname

what is statuslog setting? + or - ?

Hi - I just got around to looking into this again...
when I type:
.chaninfo #Newsroom

it shows:
[17:40:50] <i-> -inactive +statuslog -secret +shared

...but the status still doesn't appear in the console log...

That's most likely because of your console settings. Check this out and set it accordingly.
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.
