newbie help of installing eggdrop

newbie help of installing eggdrop

hi im new at this and would be happy if someone can help me
i stared all this progress
1) Download eggdrop1.6.17.tar.gz from the eggheads ftp.
2) Telnet and FTP to the shell.
3) Upload eggdrop1.6.17.tar.gz via FTP.
4) In telnet type tar zxvf eggdrop1.6.17.tar.gz
5) Type cd eggdrop1.6.17
and when i do ./configure

i get this
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH
See `config.log' for more details.

i don"t understand it
tell what i didn't get right

ask your shell admin to give you permissions to use the C compiler (or to install it if necessary)
connection, sharing, dcc problems? click <here>

or just put also here how do install tcl
and what are the commands of installing and extracting

yes i looked but the are so many
i looking for easy fast way
do i get tcl by shell? or do know easy install guide :D
