Bot opping problem with 1.6.18

Post by Hormel Sausage »

Hello folks!

I have several bots successfully connected, with file sharing enabled and (seemingly) working well. I have set each bot +o globally in the hub, which proved useless after a day (somehow all but the hub stripped the +o flags) then set it individually for each bot, and the same thing has happened - all +o flags for bots are stripped. I tried just adding the flag per channel and they all stripped the +o flag again. The only bot retaining +o for each bot is the hub yet it's not transferring over to each leaf.

I get the feeling it's something simple I'm overlooking. What am I doing wrong?

seems like you missed something real simple, like not setting the bots &/or chans +shared... did you follow the directions on enhancing your eggdrop exactly?

I believe I did but I'll go through it again when I get home tonight.

Thank you for the response.

Did you also remember to do the ".botattr <otherbot> |+s <thechannel>" for all bots?

Finally managed to find this issue in the archive. I am having this same problem with the latest version of eggdrop. I followed the netbot howto to the letter, used the +g flag for botattr. Flags are transferred fine, apart from the +o flag, which keeps getting stripped.

Any ideas?

check your config file settings
set private-globals "mnot"
When sharing user lists, if private-global isn't set, which global flag
changes from other bots should be ignored?

That's it, thank you!

(perhaps a short note of this should be in the netbot Howto, it's easily overlooked, or it's just me)
