Hello
I have 1.6.17 running on:
| Quote: | .status
[00:20] #gfree# status
I am Bot, running eggdrop v1.6.17: 35 users (mem: 200k).
Online for 06:40 (background) - CPU: 00:03 - Cache hit: 63.0%
Admin: Pochesal <email: pochesal@wefree.net>
Config file: eggdrop.conf
OS: FreeBSD 4.10-RELEASE-p5
Tcl library: /usr/local/lib/tcl8.4
Tcl version: 8.4.2 (header version 8.3.5)
Loaded module information:
Channels: #hvmud
Online as: Bot!~test@mp3.agehorn.net (Bot)
Server irc.run.net:6667 (connected for 06:39)
#hvmud : 21 members, enforcing "+n-klipsm" (greet)

It crashes sometimes (about twice a week) for no logical reason, quit message is EOF from client.
Also I installed weather.tcl script for displaying weather, and when I make !weatherupdate it begins updating location aliases (about 900) and on 700-710th it crashes (EOF from client). I have strong suspicion something kills him from the server's side when it does too much cpu/memory load or traffic activity (I don't think it really does much, but what else...). What's the reason of such a strange behavior? |

see if there is coredump file (*.core) and/or file named DEBUG; if there is, proceed according instructions on how to report a bug to the eggdrop devteam
if there isn't, ask your shell admin what's going on
in any case, check the bot's logfile |

I don't see any appropriate logfile in the bot's directory. I looked through carefully, only channel logs, nothing more =(
So the only way is to torment my shell admin? So really something kills the bot? |

of course, you are a paying customer, aren't you?
you have the right to know why is your process being terminated; it they tell you they don't do that and it's your program's (eggdrop) fault, ask them to enable coredumps - eggdrop won't die by itself without the OS generating a coredump, and if it doesn't generate one, it means they have disabled that |

| Unfortunately I'm not a paying customer, my friend gave me access to his shell where he keeps his site (he is a paying customer) and allowed to run eggdrop. I sent a message to him asking what the matter is, but he didn't respond yet, so I thought I could ask here, maybe it's just an eggdrop's problem. |

As already explained, it's doubtfull this is anything to do with eggdrop. _________________ Add [SOLVED] to the thread title if your issue has been.
