For some reason, whenever he says this in chan, she will kick him. Whether its a /me, normal text, pm, notice or /ctcp. She will kcik him for the same reason regardless.
I know they generally dont do unicode very well, and some japanese characters are in this somewhere, but what could be causing this and how can i fix it? |

do you have any scripts installed that kick with the reason "flood"? I somehow doubt this the internal flood control. eggdrop (or better its TCL enviroment) should be able to autosense common unicode encodings. _________________ De Kus

None at all.
I dont use scripts that cause that. Any kick scripts i do have rely on op access to activate them, which that user doesnt have. To check, i removed a couple of scripts not written by me, and asked him to try again.
Same reaction happened. Its very weird. Unfortunately i use a non unicode irc client (Klient) and i cannot see what is actually causing it.
This was picked up from partyline with debug mode on.
From what i can tell, it might be a colour flag? Very odd

strange strange, but I cant recreate the error, but it seems the unicode character have not been copied properly.
never heared about such a behavior before. _________________ De Kus

Its odd. It was recreatable by 3 users, but i couldny do it.
Completely gone over my head. Never seen tis before either.
I think it is an mirc thing thoi. Coming from the ID3 tag into mirc, it does get a bit weird. But why it even has this effect i dont know. |

this is perceived by eggdrop as CTCP flood since those funky characters have probably somehow embedded ASCII 1 in them
solution: increase flood-ctcp _________________ connection, sharing, dcc problems? click <here>

i didnt see one at first, but you are right, there is one single \001 character between 'disk2' and 'ÿþ5'. I looked only at the beginning of the hex code the first time .
Alternitive solution: get a better script and/or change the filename . _________________ De Kus

Ok, will give increasing ctcp-flood a go. Currently its set to 1:60, which would explain why it didnt trigger everytime.
Thanks very much for solving the mystery fellas |
