Error when trying to start eggdrop for first time

Post by q2uantum »

Hi guys

I get this error on 2 x Unix Boxes both running Cent OS when i try and run my eggdrop for the first time

Eggdrop v1.6.17 (C) 1997 Robey Pointer (C) 2004 Eggheads
[12:46] --- Loading eggdrop v1.6.17 (Sat Nov 5 2005)
[12:46] Tcl error in file 'eggdrop.conf':
[12:46] * CONFIG FILE NOT LOADED (NOT FOUND, OR ERROR)

Now i have got a working eggdrop.conf off another box of mine and tried it on these boxes and still get same error.

Any ideas where to start looking as I am total lost wth this one.

Cheers

[12:46] * CONFIG FILE NOT LOADED (NOT FOUND, OR ERROR)
Look for missing scripts that are supposed to be loaded.

Well after playing about I realised the problem! if i just did make install and let it put in in /home/root/eggdrop then it wouldnt run

if I did make install DEST=\blah\blah\blah then it worked fine - must have been something to do with the home/root folder (prob permissions for my eggie user)

user permissions seems fine to me, the error is:
"* CONFIG FILE NOT LOADED (NOT FOUND, OR ERROR)", are you sure that you're executing the correct '.conf' file?
I'm an idiot, At least this one [bug] took about 5 minutes to find...
