Problems getting auto op from Eggdrops

Post by FTL25 »

I used:

.chanset #channel +autoop

on my bots. They op me on join like they're supposed to, and all works fine... until my hostmask changes (which it changes everytime i reconnect to this IRC).

What else can I do?

Thanks!

Funny

How could it auto op you if it doesn't know your host?

Use /msg bot op #chan password function

It's very insecure to add something like Yournick!yourident@*.yourisp.com to auto op

Probably beacuse when I use .chanset #channel +autoop command, it adds it under the host I currently had at that time. After I reconnect to the IRC server that host is different, and I have to use the command all over again, which is what I have been doing... annoying.

It doens't.

chanset +autoop means that bot auto op's every user with o flag.

You want this but like i said, it's very insecure:

.+host your-handle nick!ident@*.yourisp.com

Change your handle with your handle and hostmask with your hostmask

// lol sorry

Okay, so I did that command and it said:

[3:21pm] < EGGDROP > Someone already exists by that name.

so I tried:

.-bot MyNick

and it said:

[3:21pm] < EGGDROP > You can't remove a permanent bot owner!

Edit: Nevermind, I got it... Thanks
