As far as I am aware there is no way eggdrop can be used to detect a netsplit; apart from the fact that netsplit detectors are a tad useless anyway, the event has already happened and they always state the obvious in a channel that everyone not affected has already seen.

The above is pretty obvious! _________________ Add [SOLVED] to the thread title if your issue has been.

maybe he meant posting split info gathered on other channels
anyhow, it's useless for any practical purpose - some servers split, so what - you can't get ops on split (and more importantly, on merge), and it's been that way for many years now _________________ connection, sharing, dcc problems? click <here>

Which ircd?
If your ircd have info channels like &servers (notices about servers coming and leaving) you can use script netsplitdetect by G'Quann.
You can find modified version with public pubs etc on www.slo-eggdrop.com link "Moje skripte" _________________ Slovene Eggdrop Page |

netsplit detectors do not detect netsplits, they only
read the quit messages and report what they see,
as was said before "useless" and annoying

It depends on ircd.
Script i posted detects net splits on ircnet and ircnet like ircd's.
It reads notices when server quits or comes back in server info channel &servers _________________ Slovene Eggdrop Page |

ircnet-like ircd's? I'm not aware of any well, I might be out-of-date hehe
not to underestimate your script, it's just another split info forwarder
a real netsplit detector was once running on EFnet's #netsplit; it was measuring server-to-server lag, announcing potential splits that were likely going to happen; all takeover monkeys used to hang on #netsplit and rush to the lagged server in a bid to get ops on the split (more recently, to get feedback of DDoSing); anyhow, all that is long gone, for good _________________ connection, sharing, dcc problems? click <here>
