Another issue, I get this error lots of times

Code:
RSS Error: Unable to parse feed properly, no data returned. "HERESMYURLTOFEED"

The same URL works fine in my browsers on the same machine and validates with the validator.

You need to turn on evaluate-tcl, eg:
Code:
      "output"         "\\\[\002NEW\002\\\] @@item!title@@ - \[tinyurl @@item!link@@\]"
      "evaluate-tcl"   1

As for the other issue, i'd need the url to work out what the problem is.

evaluate-tcl is activated on each feed since the beginning so that also does not resolve the problem.

I will PM you the feeds.

"evaluate-tcl" 1
"output" "\\\[\002@@channel!title@@@@title@@\002\\\] @@entry!title@@ - \[maketiny @@entry!link@@\]"
---or---
"output" "\\\[\002@@channel!title@@@@title@@\002\\\] @@item!title@@ - \[maketiny @@item!link@@\]"

You need to set evaluate-tcl as 1. Then within output you must triple escape all []'s that are not commands (any used for formatting only must be triple escaped). Then escape the \[maketiny \] ones only once, it can work. Then you simply add this procedure to the bottom of the script.
Code:
proc maketiny {url} {
   set ua "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120122 Firefox/3.0.5"
   set http [::http::config -useragent $ua]
   set token [http::geturl "http://tinyurl.com/api-create.php?[http::formatQuery url $url]" -timeout 3000]
   upvar #0 $token state
   if {[string length $state(body)]} { return $state(body) }
   return $url
}

This works great!

How can I make it work with http://u.nu/unu-api ?

When just replacing http://tinyurl.com/api-create.php? with http://u.nu/unu-api-simple?url= I get error INCOMPLETE_URL|You provided an invalid or incomplete URL.

Hi. I'm using rss-sync-0.5b1 and I've some problems. Feed shows on channel always over 30 min later, than they has been shown on forum and also bot dont show link to news on channel. Example :

Code:
16:04 <%Buhaj> [4corners] Re: TNA Wrestler PPV No Surrender 2010 () -

"()" - there should be a link ?

My conf :

Code:

namespace eval ::rss-synd {
   variable rss
   variable default

   set rss(4corners) {
      "url"         "http://www.4-corners.pl/rss.php"
      "channels"      "#4corners"
      "database"      "./scripts/feeds/rss.db"
      "output"      "\\\[\0024corners\002\\\] @@item!title@@ (@@item!slash:section@@) - \[string map { \"&from=rss\" \"\" } \"@@item!feedburner:origLink@@\"\]"
      "trigger"      "!@@feedid@@"
      "evaluate-tcl"   1
   }

   set default {
      "announce-output"   3
      "trigger-output"   3
      "remove-empty"      1
      "trigger-type"      0:2
      "announce-type"      0
      "max-depth"         5
      "evaluate-tcl"      0
      "update-interval"   30
      "output-order"      0
      "timeout"         60000
      "channels"         "#4corners"
      "trigger"         "!rss @@feedid@@"
      "output"         "\[\002@@channel!title@@@@title@@\002\] @@item!title@@@@entry!title@@ - @@item!link@@@@entry!link!=href@@"
      "user-agent"      "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11"
   }
}

Can anyone help me with this ? Any help will be greatly appreciate.

Feed shows on channel always over 30 min later,

"update-interval" 30

change it, to eg. 5, so script will check the feed in 5 min interval

You've copied the customised Slashdot 'output' which won't work correctly for other feeds.

You want something basic like:

Code:
      "output"      "\\\[\0024corners\002\\\] @@item!title@@ - @@item!link@@

I loaded this rss script onto like 3/4 bots with like 8 rss feeds and it was using around 6% cpu and 4% cpu. I tried using the latest version b2 tried b1 and older and still uses the same amount of cpu. I even just used one feed and it used around that much cpu/ram..

Consistantly or only while parsing?

scotteh, would you mind looking at the RSS feed from reddit?

http://www.reddit.com/.rss

Once I initially add it to the config it shows the feeds in the channel, however after that it never announces the new items in the channel again. If I use the trigger to list the items it shows them fine. I'm using v0.5b1

My config:
Code:
                set rss(reddit) {
                "url"                   "http://www.reddit.com/.rss"
                "channels"              "#spam"
                "database"              "./scripts/feeds/reddit.db"
                "output"                "\002\00311[\0034reddit\00311]\003\002 @@item!title@@ - @@item!link@@"
                "trigger"               "!reddit"
                "evaluate-tcl"  0
                "update-interval" 10
        }
