I get this when i make ./eggdrop -m eggdrop.conf:

"You have installed modules but have not selected an encryption
module, please consult the default config file for info."

What can i do? I think that all is right but no.. i must do something, but what?

From eggdrop.conf:
Quote:
#### BLOWFISH MODULE ####

# IF YOU DON'T READ THIS YOU MAY RENDER YOUR USERFILE USELESS LATER
# Eggdrop encrypts its userfile, so users can have secure passwords.
# Please note that when you change your encryption method later (i.e.
# using other modules like a md5 module), you can't use your current
# userfile anymore. Eggdrop will not start without an encryption module.
#loadmodule blowfish

ok thanks but i don`t know why this doesn`t work.. what i must do if i want take the simple.conf? I mean commands as
"tar zxvf (eggdrop1.6.17.tar.gz)"
"cd (eggdrop1.6.17)"
"./configure"
"make config"
"make" ...

these maybe not work with simple.conf ?

Look at the config extract that Alchera supplied then find that same thing in your config file. Then change
Code:
#loadmodule blowfish

to
Code:
loadmodule blowfish

that error relates to the fact that eggdrop will not start if there is no encryption module enabled or loaded

Good luck

It would appear the simple art of READING is a lost art these days.

Is there something to NOT understand in the following?

you are telneting to the bots IP or vhost right, and using the listening port defined in your conf.file?

If i remember correct the bot also sets telnet acess for you when you msg the bot hello and become owner.
