right now I got a script that when u trigger it , it check if the host is down or up , and msg it on the channel.
I wanna make a script , that when I turn it on by any command , it will connect to the selected host and port , and it will say if it's up or down , and when it goes down , it will msg on the channel that it's down , and if it goes up agian , it will msg on the chnnale that it went up agian.
but I have no clue how to make this , I need help people , please anyone who got ideas.

wont the TCP connection timeout after some time of inactivity? it that case it would be rather useless for wait for the timeout, beacuse you dont know if the host really timedout (failed TCP keepalive) or just had the usual timeout of inactivity . I personally use 10min timered socket probes for such purposes and set the topic change 1min later to the socket probe. you can put the chan msg also directly in the callback of course and check once every minute. _________________ De Kus
