I am trying to put a bot in a channel that has chanserv. the bot is mostly for fun stuff. like bar script and such. it has op status from chanserv and as soon as it enters a room it removes all bans and exempts from channel.i could deop the bot but it has /swear kick capabilities that are usefull to chan.
is there a way to make it ignore bans from other ops or chanserv ?
somem said set -enforcebans and -userexempts -dynamicbans. tried ll that it still does it . really new to linux and eggdrop. just switched over from a server2k3 os to kubuntu. so if any1 has any suggestions on where to get guides that are really newb friendly it would be greatly appreciated

Try setting the ban-time and exempt-time chan settings to 0.

I wonder if he set them via editing the config file or via paryline or via editing chanfile and reloading them.
also checking the bounce setting to bounce server bans and adding chanserv with userflag +e might be a wise idea.

Code:
.chanset #chan +nodesynch

eggdrop.conf
Quote:
# nodesynch
# Allow non-ops to perform channel modes? This can stop the bot from
# fighting with services such as ChanServ, or from kicking IRCops when
# setting channel modes without having ops.

PostPosted: Thu Apr 05, 2007 9:27 pm    Post subject: Bot still removing bans from banlist ,.. please help !! Reply with quote

I am having the same darn problem with my bot when I op it..

If a op bans a user , then the bot starts removing some of the bans from the ban list..

I have set in BOTH ( the config file default settings ) and also by DCC ( ( partyline ) . th following are all turned off :
--> +enforcebans and -userexempts -dynamicbans ( I know that the +enforcebans options is for if some one take a ban out of the banlsit that the bot himself has in it's own data or own banlist ( such the +banperm command that I use or the .+stick command to make the ban stay )

But what is causing the bot to always remove bans from the ban list that he did NOT set?

I am on the Undernet server and we use X ( and not chanserv )
as far as i know we are allowed to have over 200 or more bans in the banlist at one time. how ever , you can only do this if they are X bans..

So wich is my problem? is the bot configure improperly some how? Or is it seeing that the ban list is full and trying to make room for more bans or is it removing bans that it think is OLD bans and allowing space for new bans?

I want to NOt remove ANY bans at all regarless..

Please help..

Settings for dynamic channel ( EDITED )

eggdrop.conf:
Quote:
#
# ban-time 120
# Set here how long temporary bans will last (in minutes). If you
# set this setting to 0, the bot will never remove them.

I also usedd the DCc command --> .chanset #leb -clearbans wixh said successfully set.. and the bot will STILL remove the darn bans after we set a few bans in the ban box .. It just keeps thinking that it is only allowed to set 30 bans in the ban box.

I am not using Chanserv .. We use X for the server bot.. we are NOT on DalNet.. I am on Undernet..
