Hey Im pretty much new to all of this, but have an eggdrop up and running. My DCC is still a bit wacky, but I have added a script. The script works great when its called, as long as its not set to be a private message. I would really like to be able to get the bot to private message so as to not spam the channel up.

Are there certain permission involved with setting a bot to privmessage? Or am I just missing something really obvious?

Any help much appreciated!

Much Respect
D

privmsg would just use

puthelp "PRIVMSG $nick :whatever"

instead of

puthelp "PRIVMSG $chan :whatever"

Well I haven't actually figured out why the bot will not do private messages. The script has the funcionality built in, and I turned it on, But I appreciate the reply. I had been fighting wierd errors in my DCC but solved that.

Anyway.. Thanks!

If you want to elaborate and/or show the relevant sections of the script, I'm sure someone can help. Might be better off posting this in the script help forum, as it doesn't appear to be an eggdrop issue per se.
