Hello alll, i tried searching everywhere and cant find it.. maybe i missed it. If i did, my apologies.
I am the owner of my bot on my PC. It only runs in one channel. I am the only one who can do commands of course because its my bot.
Someimes, server gets netsplits or disconnects may come around, and wen the bot connects back, it starts to flod the channel because it will not cerify itself for some reason. And i am using chanservneed if im not mistaken for nickserv for bot. And the server doent allow anyone to keep a nick thats registered, changes you to guest. Bot thries to get its name abck , but not verifying, so it just makes a mess if im not there.

Instead of tryong to write another chanservneed script, id rather have 2 people that i trust to come in and use the .restart method and all is ok for that. Bt i cant figure how.
i went to my partyline and added johndoe... ill show example below...

.+user johndoe
(then it says something about user added, no flags no password)
.+chattr johndoe +m
(Global flags for johndoel are now +jlmoptx)
Now i get johndoe to go in channel and type .rehash , Nothing. .restart Nothing
What am i doing wrong? What am i missing?? They tried dcc bot, but it said they need a passwrd, but i have mine , and dont wanna give em mine. If im not mistaken, mine is Owner.
Any help is appreciated... Sorry for long message!

They simply set their own pass seeing as you are allowing party line access.

what about besides the partyline way.. is there a different way.
or is that the easiest way?

edit : I just told the guy to type /msg BOTNAME pass 159357
and he said nothing happened... but i added him and gave him global flags in partyline, but he cannot communicate with the bot.. so much as .rehash wont work for him.... and those are the 2 main things i need a person for is for rehash and restart.

If nothing happened when your friend messaged the bot with 'pass <password>' then it either means that the bot didn't recognize him or he already has a password set. You can change his password by typing .password <user> <pass> in partyline (and no there is no other way unless you're using a Tcl script which does that via public or private commands).
