|
|
Hi,
finally i could install eggdrop on my server but now i cant connect to the Partyline.
Of course i've read the topic with dcc-problems and tried the solutions but maybe i didn't understand everything.
Wenn i try /dcc chat BOTNICK
i have the normal problem that i get as dcc window:
Chat with Avirillion
Waiting for acknowledgement...
and nothing more happens.
Then i tried it with /ctcp BOTNICK chat and then comes:
Acknowledging chat request...
DCC Chat connection established
DCC session closed
For information:
i am behind a router but i tested it with firewall off.
thx for helping

kill the bot
open userfiles in an editor
add -telnet!*@* as a host for your handle
save file and close editor
start bot |

your problem may also be caused by your IRC client
mIRC is for known for this type of problem due to it's default settings for DCC ports.
If you are using mIRC, go to Options-Connect-Options-Advanced and make sure your bot's port is within the range set. |

yes i use mIRC
in this Options is
DCC activated and port range is first: 1 and last: 5000
i thought the port for the bot is 3333 so it should be between this range? |

then I suggest restarting the bot using the -nt switches
that way you can see what happens on the bot when trying to connect |

[16:54] -DA_ISCH (~a.amtsber@daISCH.users.quakenet.org)- DCC Chat (91.5.190.225)
[16:54] DCC invalid port: CHAT (DA_ISCH!~a.amtsber@daISCH.users.quakenet.org)
this is the answer when i try to connect with: /dcc chat BOTNAME |

This error is because your client uses a port considdered "improper" by eggdrop; that is, it is either below 1024 (considdered reserved or system-ports in many OS:es) or above 65535 (above the highest possible port-number under IPv4).
Under the Connect->Options->Advanced setting, you're using ports ranged from 1 to 5000; change the 1 to something above 1024 and your problem should be solved.
The range used here has nothing todo with the "listen-port" you've defined in your eggdrop's config, and they do not have to overlap. _________________ NML_375, idling at #eggdrop@IrcNET |
