What changes did you make to the config?

Try making no changes at all, and see if that works. Because what this appears like is you've altered some config setting incorrectly. Paste your entire config section (just the config portion, not the entire script) here and I could show you what was wrong.

What version of eggdrop are you using? and also, which version of tcl?
I'm using windrop 1.6.17 above, maybe this is the problem? I have friends using 1.6.19 and 1.6.18 just fine, which puzzles me. Maybe your eggdrop is <1.6.17 ??

Can you possibly, post the results of .set errorInfo (note the large I this is important). If your bot replies with "What? Do you need .help?" you will need to enable this. Open eggdrop.conf and make sure both "unbind tcl.." and "unbind set.." are changed into "bind tcl..." and "bind set..." then save and .restart the bot.

Immediately after the bot gives that error message, on the partyline type .set errorInfo and paste the results. This will easily allow me to know where the problem stems from.

that's odd, after binding these too things suddenly it works. is it save to let these be bound (i'm the only user of the bot)

I think it's more that you .restart'd the bot than anything else. Some lingering bad configuration change was left on your bot. Every config change you must .rehash your bot for them to have any affect. This is what I suspect was the case.

I'm stupid. Just lowered the split_length and problem was fixed. But there is still some misparsing with wiki's non-english disambiguation pages.

This is one of the new features now supported. Depending on the regional server your on, you can now get fully multilanguage supported weather. This was recently added by google, and now supported by this script. Also have corrected the way wikipedia/wikimedia #anchor subtag lookup's are performed. They are no longer detected using looping whiles which can hang the bot. It's performed now with an inline regexp and a foreach iterating over this. The foreach loop cannot produce an endless loop like the nested while could. This makes wikipedia/wikimedia anchor/toc lookups much faster. Also corrected various things here and there which I've since forgotten what they even were. There are still some problems with total results showing and a few other minor problems, but for the most part everything here works as intended.

I can't visit every page (mediawiki/wikipedia/etc/etc/endless-list-of-sites-here/etc) in every language (insert huge list here of languages) so without knowing what your query was it's not possible for me to duplicate this. This should support 99.999% of mediawiki enabled wiki sites, as well as supporting wikipedia itself with additional features. When I see it for myself I can correct it within both procedures, until then I can only slant my head slightly left, and go.. hmmm ...

BREIN/MPAA/RIAA/ESA are currently causing disruption in their, um.. "service".. This will result in that part of the script occasionally returning time-outs, or no replies, misreporting the amounts of seeds/peers, and other issues. This is unavoidable due their situation. Once they fix this, the script is fixed in this regard. Enjoy it while it lasts, and be aware this uses the "suprnova" template, so adapting it to any site using this template (piratebay,mininova,etc) a rather trivial task. It may involve more than changing the url, because sometimes they re-arrange the table listing the rows, so the capture group ordering needs to be adjusted for this. Other than that, the template is used on most of the larger torrent sites search page.
