Hi! guys,

i have been using IRC and see a lot of users are using VHOST
i'm digging out the info that the VHOST can be created consider that you own a server and host a DNS on it

now my friend has a server and a working DNS
he even have bought another domain to make it as VHOST

e.g server hostname: www.myvhost.com
DNS1: 64.18.134.150
DNS2: 64.18.134.151

how do i create A record and PTR record to make it a working vhost?
e.g i-love.myvhost.com, this-is.myvhost.com

this server is hosted on FreeBSD

thanks a lot

Most likely by reading the documentation that came with whichever particular DNS server was installed. Google would be a good place to start. Vhosts are just aliases to dns. The real magic is done at the hardware level (ifconfig'ing multiple ip's to the same ethernet card.) I'll refer you to the relevant bsd documentation for that, since I do not know of any bsd howto's like there are for linux. Again, google is your friend in finding docs.

See:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_name_system

It all depends on your hosting provider. Some providers, delegate your IP block to your nameserver. Or, they might have a web control panel to add the necessary records to their DNS.

If your unsure, contact your hosting provider.
