I read
| Quote: | Connect problems - your bot doesn't show up on IRC, doesn't join channel(s), etc.
Log into the bot via DCC or telnet and type .console +rv (please note that this will work only if you have raw-log set to 1 in your config file); +r flag shows server's output to the bot and +v shows bot's output to the server. Observe what happens after you've set these flags, you might get valuable clues. If you are still unable to find solution to the problem, post the console log along your question. |
already, but it doesn't seem to help.
I have raw-log set to 1 in my config file, but when i type .console +rv it doesn't show anything (or am i doing it wrong? :s how would i telnet into the bot?)
also, under /logs there are no files created.
when i launch eggdrop, this is what happens

when i run top, this is what i see

From the Terminal:
| Code: | | ./eggdrop -n eggdrop.conf |
Read the output and all will be revealed.
CTRL + C to kill. _________________ Add [SOLVED] to the thread title if your issue has been.

well, i thought eggtop could have been a new function :p
and i know d is tossed in there sometimes!
i get | Quote: | | [23:22] * USER FILE NOT FOUND! (try './eggdrop -m eggdrop.conf' to make one) |
hmm, not sure? do i hvae to rename my eggdrop.conf ?
running /eggdrop -m eggdrop.conf i get
| Quote: | [23:25] === LoRDYYY: 2 channels, 0 users.
I detect LoRDYYY already running from this directory.
If this is incorrect, erase the 'pid.LoRDYYY' |

Do what it actually says:
| Quote: | | ./eggdrop -m eggdrop.conf |
If you renamed eggdrop.conf the use then file name changed to. _________________ Add [SOLVED] to the thread title if your issue has been.

You killed the process id (kill -9 pid)?
If so, then eggdrop is not running then what I originally said to do will work.
If a user file has not been made then you will see the appropriate message regarding that and how to create one .i.e using the -m switch. _________________ Add [SOLVED] to the thread title if your issue has been.

1) kill any running bot
2) ./eggdrop -mnt eggdrop.conf |

I did this, and I see more information now.
Apparently, it's a server timeout.
I can't seem to quit out of it now .quit just makes it reset.
Seems I timeout on every server I try to connect to
would this be a host issue? |

Is this bot on a shell server?
If it is, you may need to set appropriate my-ip or my-hostname in the conf.
(Some shell servers do not allow connections from the machine's main IP.) |
