I want my friend in the channel to have full access to the bot, but through private messaging the bot, so he logs on via /msg botnick login handle password. But whenever he messages the bot with anything, even .help, the bot doesn't respond at all back. I tried the same and it doesn't do anything either, so I always have to log into the bot with DCC. Is there any way to use the private message with the bot instead?

There is no "login" msg-command...
There are a limited set of msg-commands available natively with eggdrop, use "/msg <yourbot> help" (not .help) for information on those.

emokid, there is a couple of scripts around that will add more public & msg commands, as well as a 'login', but I would recommend the Stormbot.tcl.
