Hi

I want to autoprotect +a a user when he joins. The username is in my userlist. What is the solution. Thank you and happy new year.

The mere fact that they have this "+a" means they already are doesn't it?

Check your network documentation.

As for eggdrop, add the user with the "+f" (friend) flag.

lemme make sure I understand exactly what you want to happen. When a specific user from your userlist joins your channel, you want the bot to set a channel mode of +a for that specific user? Not sure exactly how this is supposed to be accomplished. Can you please give an example of what this would look like on the irc?
Code:
Nick has joined #mychannel
Bot sets mode +a Nick

I added the username: .+user user
Gave a host to the username: .+host user host

When he is joining the channel, I want to protect him (unrealircd).

Its +a

that's just my question. +a to an eggdrop is the auto-op flag, and has nothing to do with 'protection' at all. With whom are you trying to set this mode? With your networks ChanServ? Is it a channel mode? To an eggdrop, the +f flag is all the 'protection' he needs, which exempts the user from the various flood settings in the bot. If you are trying to set a personal usermode, which is something completely different, I do not believe it is possible for 1 user to set the usermode of another user. Please clarify how this is accomplished Confused

Quote:
[12:33] * Almozo (~Almozo@Best.Girl.Ever) has joined #Ballarat
[12:33] * ChanServ sets mode +a #Ballarat Almozo

Most networks prohibit the setting of a mode on another user as YooHoo pointed out.

The above example is on a non-Bahamut (read bloated) network using what I believe to be a modified Anope service. The above mode (from memory) can be set on a user by a channel founder only!

ImPr3zA: Check your ChanServ documentation for the "PEACE" setting.

what script? I thought Alchera was extremely clear about this. This is a ChanServ issue, and has absolutely nothing to do with eggdrop at all. As for scripts in general, some simple reading is required of you.
Using tcl Scripts

This thread has nothing to do with downloading anything.

Please refer to these links: Setting up an Eggdrop | Using tcl Scripts
