ok, I've gotten it running (using windrop)
I'm able to add users, flag them, DCC Chat into the bot when NOT on the same network, and got a weather script running on it, however, I've run into a couple of walls that I'm hoping someone can help me out with.
#1: I can't set up "passwords" for the other "admins" (simply haven't found a way to do so, and having them /msg botname pass (password) doesn't work.
#2: Random users are able to DCC in, and others not, and when inside the same router, I'm unable to effect the bot at all.
and a minor annoyance is that with the alltools.tcl enabled in the config, none of its functions respond, the only one I'm particularly trying to use is the one allowing me to make the bot speak in a given channel.
I'm more than happy to sit down and read some guidance on this if it's there to be found, if someone can point me at it (and don't say "the read me came with the thing" because I've gone through it with a search key looking for anything that allowed me to resolve the above issues and found nothing.)
anyway, sorry for rambling and thanks for your time in advance!

1) " help chpass" in partyline
2) DCC "problems" are usually the result of an IRC client's setting for it's local address ("Options-Connect-Local Info-IP Address" in case of mIRC, it needs to be set to the user's WAN address instead of a LAN address).
As for "speaking through the bot to a channel", use ".help say" and ".help act", and "help msg" in the partyline to learn more. |

many thanks on those two points, the problem is, setting the IP is pretty much a permafail since I bounce between 2-3 ISP's a day, and, I'm also not on mirc, I'm almost constantly on ircle (osx).
as a side thought, how do you set the bot up to actually handle connections from within the same WAN IP? |
