I thought I knew my password but when i tried to use take control of my bot the day after i first took control, i find i cannot do it. Is the password stored somewhere within the eggdrop files so that i can look it up manually. If so is it obvious or is in encrypted

It is encrypted. It is possible that your hostmask changed from when you first setup your bot. In which case, if you have enabled "ident" in your bot's configuration file, simply log on to irc, and "/msg <bot> ident <pass> <nick you had when you set up your bot>"

Else, you will need to delete your userfile, and restart your eggdrop with the -m switch.
