The Bots are linked it's ok, they share the user & chan list, but when I use the chanset cmd for Bot1, the second (leaf) doesn't do the same.

.chanset #blablabla +script

It that ok, It should be so or something wrong ?

That is normal behaviour, userfile sharing does not automatically relay/share channel settings.
There are some scripts out there that will add this feature, I believe netbots is one of those...

Same problem here.. Everything is done by these instructions:

http://www.egghelp.org/enhance.htm

Hub bot info:

Telnet connection: ZZZ.ZZZ.ZZZ:1234
Challenging XXX...
Linked to XXX.
*** Linked to XXX
Creating resync buffer for XXX
Sending user file send request to XXX
Disconnected from: XXX. No reason (lost X bot and X users)
*** Disconnected from: XXX. No reason (lost X bot and X users)
(Userlist transmit aborted.)

Leaf bot info:

Received challenge from YYY... sending response ...
Linked to YYY.
*** Linked to YYY
Downloading user file from YYY
Lost userfile transfer from YYY; aborting.
*** YYY
(Userlist download aborted.)

Both bots have eggdrop v1.6.19.

puustinen:
All I can say is that this smells like some network issue, possibly in combination with some masquerading firewall ("home router") or such.

Is either (or both) bot(s) behind any firewall or filtering router device?
Are they located on the same network?
Is either (or both) bot(s) using a private IP-range (starts with 169, 192, or 10)?

The leaf bot is behind firewall, and as you can see from my first post, the connection is made, but the user file cannot be transmitted for some reason.

They are not located in the same network and neither one is using private IP-range.

I lost my nerves today trying to get those work, first I had the bots the other way aroung and they couldn't even connect. Now the connection works, and it's probably because of the protections on the other end that makes it work only partially.

Anyway, I'd appreciate it if someone could tell me more about this, hence the reason is somewhat bizarre to me Razz

For now they are linked without sharing user files..

The problem here, is that the user file transfer is done over a separate connection, usually in the opposite direction of the botnet connection. As such, it is most likely the firewall blocking the user file transfer, and hence sharing won't work.

Ok, thanks for the quick reply. I'll move the leaf bot to another platform and location soon and try again.
