Any reason why the script isn't outputting bold text when something is posted in IRC? I changed the outputted display, but bold just won't work.
Code:
| Code: | set twitter(restapi-display) "\[\002@%screen%\002\] %text%"
set twitter(restapi-display-cont) "\[\002@%screen%\002\] %text%"
|
Output:
It's not my IRC client, using x-chat and I can see bold text from other users and bots. |

speechles, any chance to get some rate limiting options? According to the doc's, twitter will start blacklisting applications for bouncing off this limit, and I don't see anything in the script that allows for limiting. Did I miss it maybe? |

Hi there & thanks for the great script firstly.
Just wondering if there's a way to tweet via a private msg to the bot (eg /msg bot !tweet somemsg etc) instead of in the public channel?
Thanks in advance... |

unable to convert date-time string "2013-07-20 20:46:11 MSK": syntax error (characters 19-22)
Cannot seem to resolve this issue. Once found a fix for it in the forums but am unable to locate it now. Any suggestions? I am running v6.01d |

Hey speechless,
The twitter script used to work for me untill a few days ago, it stopped working for no obvious reason.
I haven't changed the order of the base/sha/oauth/twitter scripts in the .conf file and I've re-downloaded the scripts from here and I still get the same error:
[14:35] OAuth failed: (???) Unknown problem... No reason given...( timeout )
I haven't changed the apps either.
Help please? |

| I have the same problem as in previous post. Has twitter moved to oauth 2? |

| I'm pretty certain this is to do with an incorrect date/timezone on the host which is commercial and beyond my influence. The script worked fine before an unexpected reboot. I'm waiting for a seemingly reluctant admin to correct it. |

| Setting this back up on a new install - lost the original files. The oauth.tcl file in http://ereader.kiczek.com/ereader/scripts/twitter.zip currently appears to be an older one which only supports oauth 1.0. Is this correct? |

I'm having issues with the twitter script, it works on 2 of my 4 channels. the other 2 it seems to +follow (the account actually follows the requested profile) but it just won't display tweets in the channels, when one of my working channels has some common friends and it's working great. the apps I've created in dev.twitter.com are independent, for each channel I use a different app. (yes I have +twitter and +twitterfriends enabled) _________________ Libera ##rtlsdr & ##re - Nick: spithash

Apparently it is following other profiles other than the ones I try to follow
Doesn't matter if I add a @ before the profile name, it just follows a different profile. _________________ Libera ##rtlsdr & ##re - Nick: spithash

i get same thing, it happens when last tweet is re-tweeting some one else but it does follow the correct person, it just reports wrong name in IRC |

OH SNAP!!!1!shift!!eleven
Yeah, I haven't actually done anything with this script in quite awhile and twitter has made their payloads much more complex. This plays havoc with my parsers. I'll put some time towards this script in this next couple days and fix that issue and a few others I've ran across that annoy me.. haw
Eventually the entire parsing syntax engine will need to be ported over to json/dict just to make ordering/progression easier to keep accurate. Until that time we shall keep rowing our boat gently up this rather difficult stream of data using regexp and nested if statements... lmao
And to clear things up a bit:
http://ereader.kiczek.com/twitter.zip --- supports oauth v1.1 only, no v1.0 support
http://ereader.kiczek.com/scripts/twitter.zip -- supports oauth v1.0 only, no v1.1 support
twitter has killed off support for all v1.0 applications. Both links are up for posterity/legacy sake. So others can see the difference if they ever care to. _________________ speechles' eggdrop tcl archive |
