I might be wrong, but to me, it would seem your host provider thought you were asking about running an irc server - thus permitting inbound connections. In this case, your eggdrop irc robot is trying to do outbound connections.
This still does not answer whether your host provider has some service terminating user background processes... (to be honest, I can't think of any other good reason your eggdrop would be receiving TERMINATE signals...). _________________ NML_375, idling at #eggdrop@IrcNET |

I like the support to this thread. This is what they replied:
Hello,
Yes, it is very possible that our server is terminating the process. Here are the timeout limits we have for processes run on the server:
Apache/Web (HTML/PHP/Downloads): With Dedicated IP: 12 Hours | Without: 10 Minutes (up from 5 minutes)
SSH/Shell: With Dedicated IP: 2 Hours | Without: 1 Hour
Cron Jobs: With Dedicated IP: 30 Minutes | Without: 30 Minutes
Deamons: With Dedicated IP: Unlimited | Without: 10 Minutes
Thank you,
Brandon |

Well, unless you can run your process for an unlimited amount of time, your eggdrop won't do you much good. _________________ NML_375, idling at #eggdrop@IrcNET |
