Help configuring Eggdrop

Post by AHEO »

Hi
I compiled eggdrop but when I moved on to configuring it, certain thing's showed up which I wasn't sure what to do with or didn't know. I've a freeBSD shell that doesn't have listening ports opened. What should I enter in the listen-addr ?

thanks

What do you mean by "no listening port". A firewall is blocking all the ports ?

The basis of *nix systems is that ports are closed unless a process open them. I think you may set a listen port to your eggdrop (the one by default) and try to telnet it from outside.
