Want Eggdrop to be able to see (log) its own posts ?

Post by willyw »

Here's a couple tidbits of info - regarding Eggdrop 1.9.1 - that are sometimes asked about :

From #eggdrop on irc.libera.chat , today.
<Geo> ok, fun fact for those who want to see eggdrop log its own messages- we now support CAP and some ircv3 capabilities, one of which is the 'echo-message' capability. If the server Eggdrop is on supports it, you can request the echo-message capability in the config file and, once enabled, Eggdrop's messages are sent back to it thus enabling those messages to be logged with the +p logging flag. I

<Geo> think that will help a lot of people once they figure it out

<jack3> Geo: Is it ok to quote you - copy-and-paste - the immediate above, to a forum post? It is something that can be pointed to, in the future.

<Geo> Sure. It's being added to TRICKS as well in the next release

<jack3> Excellent. Thank you

<Geo> https://ircv3.net/software/clients#bots may be handy to include as well

<jack3> will view. tnx
