Since when did you need a executable config file to setup a crontab job.
just tell your cron script to run ./eggdrop config instead of just ./config |

Since I use ./config
Personal preference I suppose and as I run 20 bots on shell accounts... _________________ Add [SOLVED] to the thread title if your issue has been.

anyone ever figure out a solution to the problem at hand...im having the same one...
config file is setup correctly as i have done it before but switched over to debian OS, no firewall. dns module is loaded.
[13:24] main: entering loop
[13:24] Trying server irc.gamesurge.net:6667
[13:24] DNS resolved irc.gamesurge.net to 213.247.51.21
[13:25] Timeout: connect to irc.gamesurge.net
