its a rumor you can't compile eggdrop on Cygwin as modular version.
I just updated Cygwin, installed TCL 8.4.11 from the windrop page and successfully configure and compiled the current 1.6 CVS version.

And yes, it runs properly and shows up on IRC, even with modules symlinked to modules-1.6.18 ^-^. Btw. I usually dont compile the other modules, because I simply never ever needed them ^-^.
PS: they are probably not sharedable, but still dynamic loadable.

hmm I didn't know Cygwin's ld supports dlopen() and -Bshareable, haven't used it for years...
